Elon Musk has revealed the origin of the unusual name for his and Sivon Gillis’ rarely seen twins.
Tesla’s CEO was reacting to Tesla owner Silicon Valley’s tweet on Wednesday of a photo of Musk kneeling next to his 4-year-old, the father smiling with his back to the camera.
Musk, 54, explained that his son Strider Sekhar was “named after Aragorn” from “The Lord of the Rings,” and his nickname was Strider.
Meanwhile, the toddler’s middle name was inspired by the great Indian physicist (Subrahmanyan) Chandrasekhar.
As for Mr. Musk’s daughter Comet Azul, her nickname is “The most powerful spell in Elden Ring.”
The businessman declined to say how he and Gillis, 39, came up with the names for their other two children.
Their daughter Arcadia was born in February 2024, and their son Seldon was born in February 2025.
In addition to the four children Musk had with the Neuralink executive, he has fathered another 10 children with other partners over the years.
He became a father in 2002 when his and then-wife Justine Wilson’s son Nevada arrived, but the baby tragically passed away a few days later.
The former couple welcomed twins Griffin and Vivian in 2004, followed by triplets Kai, Saxon and Damien in 2006.
Musk is estranged from Vivian, who once claimed he was “killed” by the “wakemind virus,” but quipped to the Financial Times in 2022 that “you can’t win against everyone.”
The SpaceX CEO also has three children with Grimes. Son X AE A-XII (5 years old), daughter Exa Dark Sideræl (4 years old), and son Techno Mechanicus (3 years old).
The exes have been in a custody battle since ending their on-again, off-again relationship in 2022.
Musk was also confirmed to be the father of Ashley St. Clair’s son Romulus, born in September 2024 – after a political commentator questioned his paternity claims.
St. Clair told The New York Times in May 2025 that Musk once told her he intended to father a child with a Japanese porn star and donate his sperm to “anyone,” but he has not yet addressed the 27-year-old’s charges.
