Yash’s ‘Toxic’ reveals character Raya in birthday announcement

To celebrate Yash’s birthday, the makers of Toxic – A Fairy Tale for Adults have released a character introduction video introducing Raya, played by Yash.

The release comes after the makers strategically announced the female ensemble cast (Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasant, Tara Sutaria) and established the film’s character-driven foundation before introducing the central characters.

The video begins with a graveyard setting and quickly moves into action. A gunshot breaks the silence, and Raya appears from the smoke, armed with a Tommy gun. This material establishes a dark aesthetic that indicates the scale and visual intensity of the work. Building on the footage released during last year’s Birthday release, the new video expands on the film’s action-driven world and visual approach.

As an actor, co-writer and co-producer, Yash stands for creative experimentation within the framework of international storytelling.

Yash is a Kannada-speaking film actor who rose to pan-India stardom with the series ‘KGF’ and became one of the most popular stars in Indian cinema. Known for his portrayal of Rocky Bhai in KGF: Chapter 1 (2018) and KGF: Chapter 2 (2022), Yash’s transformation into a larger-than-life action hero broke the language barrier and propelled the film to unprecedented box office success. The second film in the series became the fifth highest grossing film in Indian film history. While the ‘KGF’ series cemented his star power, Yash’s early career in Kannada films showed his versatility with notable performances in projects like ‘Mr & Mrs Ramachari’ (2014) and ‘Google’ (2013).

Written by Yash and directed by Geethu Mohandas, ‘Toxic – A Fairytale for Adults’ will be shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and other languages also planned.

The film features National Award-winning cinematographer Rajeev Ravi, composer Ravi Basroor, editor Ujjwal Kulkarni and production designer TP Abid. The action sequences will be choreographed by Hollywood director JJ Perry of John Wick fame, along with Indian National Film Award-winning action directors Anbarib and Kecak Kampakdee.

Produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash through KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, ‘Toxic – A Fairytale for Adults’ is scheduled to release in theaters worldwide on March 19, coinciding with Eid, Ugadi and Gudi Padwa celebrations.
