Why should we say goodbye to quality diamonds?
Rachel Zoe is never one to shy away from shine. That means finding any excuse to wear diamond jewelry, even after a divorce.
The celebrity stylist recently unveiled a giant three-stone diamond ring she created to celebrate her split from husband Roger Berman.
Created by Ring Concierge, this sparkler features a giant oval center stone flanked by two smaller but equally impressive diamonds of the same shape.
The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” newcomer debuted the ring she wears on her index finger last month, writing on her Instagram Stories, “My dream divorce ring…’I could die for it!!!'”
Zoe has always loved diamonds, so much so that she told Page Six Style in 2020 that she gives all of her employees a “hand-picked, very delicate piece of diamond jewelry” for the holidays.
And Superstar is in good company. Brooks Nader and Emily Ratajkowski similarly traded their engagement rings from ex-husbands Billy Hare and Sebastian Bear-McClard, respectively, for eye-catching breakup sparkles.
Ratajkowski asked jeweler Alison Lu, who created her original trois et moi engagement ring, to isolate stones in this style.
“The idea behind this was always to take Emily’s original ring and rebrand it to mark a new chapter in her life. When we created her original engagement ring, it sparked a new trend of two-stone rings, and to take that ring apart and create it anew is very symbolic,” Alison Lu founder Alison Chemula told Page Six Style at the time.
“Just as divorce is the separation of two people, these rings are the separation of two stones. Now she has two rings that she can proudly wear every day, a reminder of how strong and powerful she is.”
Meanwhile, Nader also worked with Ring Concierge to treat herself to a new flashy 9-carat stone, saying, “This is how I celebrate the next chapter of my life. Women deserve to buy themselves something great just for that reason. So how about a sick divorce ring?!”
Celebrity jeweler Jackie Aish, who has recently created many engagement rings for Miley Cyrus, says she fully supports this trend.
“Ends are never easy… so I love the idea of treating yourself to a talisman that commemorates your love and dedication to yourself,” says Aish, who is known for her iconic designs.
“It’s less about the relationship and more about honoring your commitment to your truth. It’s about following your heart and committing to what feels right, even when it’s difficult.”
Zoe filed for divorce from her longtime husband in July, 10 months after announcing their separation. The couple has been together for over 30 years.
It’s unclear whether she used the stone from her previous engagement ring, but certainly, there were multiple upgrades during their 26 years of marriage.
The ring Berman proposed with was apparently a relatively modest emerald cut, but after Zoe gave birth to her first son in 2011, it was upgraded to a “push present.”
Zoe’s second ring, designed by Neil Lane, included a 10-carat cushion-cut center stone surrounded by a ring of small diamonds. She was later spotted wearing a third, larger sparkler with a glowing bezel.
