Ree Drummond has a lot to be proud of at home. Even though their children are now grown, they often return to their Pawska, Okla., mansion for family fun.
The Pioneer Woman hostess and her husband of nearly 30 years, Rudd, have five children. Alex was born in 1997. Paige, born in 1999. Bryce, born in 2002. Jamar was born in 2002 and joined the family as a foster child in 2018. Through her eldest daughter Alex, Lee is also a grandmother to baby Sophia, who was born in 2024.
Raising five children may seem like a lot, but the Food Network star is optimistic about her busy life. “If you can just accept the chaos and the funny parts and really just hang in there a little bit and enjoy the process, that’s what motherhood is,” Lee said in 2010.
As the Drummond family celebrates its 57th birthday on January 6, 2026, see photos of the unbreakable bond of the Drummond family, from gatherings at home to shared adventures.

Sophia, who just celebrated her first birthday, wore a matching red sweater with her grandparents for Christmas in 2025.
“A whole new level of fun has been unleashed this year. 😊❤️🎄 Merry Christmas, friends!!” she captioned the photo.

Sophia took her “first girls trip” to the Big Apple with her mother and grandmother as Pioneer Woman promoted her latest cookbook. It’s a cookbook I dedicated to my granddaughter on the Today show.

Even as Sophia grew up, Lee didn’t hesitate to post photos from her “grandma years.”
Below a video of her baby granddaughter, she confessed: “I didn’t think I was ready to cross over to Grandma’s side of the street yet, but Lord Heaven…I love it so much. I’m so grateful for this gift.”

Ten days after Sophia’s birth, Lee posted a post on her blog summarizing her “cute little pookie-headed granddaughter’s” first day.

“Mauricio (Scott) texted us just after 2:30 a.m. with two words: ‘She’s here!!!'” she wrote in a blog post after arriving in Sofia, next to a photo of Sofia and Rudd looking lovingly at their granddaughter. We brushed our teeth and headed to the hospital to see Sophia, and I cried. ”
Mr. Lee continued. “Eventually we went back to the hotel and slept for a few hours, but of course we went back to the hospital right after. What a little peanut!”

In December 2024, Leigh’s family grew in a new way with the birth of Alex’s first child, a daughter named Sophia Marie, making Leigh a first-time grandmother.
“Our first baby has welcomed our first baby. Thank you Lord. We will never be the same,” Lee captioned a photo of herself holding her newborn alongside her husband.

Their four dogs photobombed an Easter family photo featuring all five of their children, as well as Alex and Paige’s partner. “Dogs are so forgiving that they always let us know before we accidentally leave them behind,” Lee joked in the caption.

Lee and Ladd gather their friends throughout the year to celebrate the holidays and partake in favorite holiday traditions, like wearing matching pajamas at Christmas and cooking their favorite dishes.
But sometimes, kids come back simply to spend quality time with their families. Alex, who currently works for his mother’s brand, shared a collection of photos with his mother, father and siblings from a few days spent at home in May. “Where is ❤️ :),” she captioned the post.
You can never have too many cooks in the kitchen

In April 2023, the Drummond family joined Rudd’s late parents, Chuck and Nan, to celebrate Easter at their home. Lee shared several sweet photos of the group, including one of her daughters Alex and Paige preparing a non-traditional meal for the family.
“Easter at Chuck and Nan’s house was just like any other. I miss them, they loved Easter,” the blogger wrote on Instagram. “But it’s so great to be around, our big, quirky staff. We decided to skip the ham and sides and make the biscuits and gravy on paper plates. Maybe the paper plates are why I’m smiling in this photo? 😂 Happy Easter, friends! ❤️”
always a fun time

But with five busy kids all over the world, it’s not always easy to coordinate schedules to get everyone in the same room at the same time. In 2021, Drummond’s eldest son Alex disappeared from her annual pajama photo while on vacation with her husband Mauricio Scott’s family.
“The way we do this wedding vacation thing is every year we do Thanksgiving with one family, then Christmas with the other family, and then we reverse that,” Alex explained on Instagram at the time, according to her mom’s Pioneer Woman blog. “So next year I’m going to have Christmas with my family.”
to love more

In 2018, the Drummond family added a new member when Lee and Ladd became foster parents to Jamar Goff. He originally joined Todd and Bryce in their household as a football teammate, but quickly became a close-knit team member after Goff needed support due to an ATV injury.
“The Jammer accident, as bad as it was, ended up having an unexpected benefit for our family: It forced us all to get much closer together, much faster,” Lee writes in his book Frontier Follies.
she continued. “We were all thinking about Jammer. If there was any hesitation about interacting and getting comfortable with each other, his injury quickly broke through that wall and gave us all a reason to come together. Jammer had to learn to trust us.”

Now that Todd has left the nest, he is following in his older brother’s footsteps and playing football for the University of South Dakota Coyotes. And just like Bryce, Drummond’s youngest brother has family support. Lee shared an adorable photo from Todd’s football game this fall and opened up about life as an empty nester.
“In this photo taken last Saturday, I show you the typical goofy, dreamy, sad yet happy smile of a mother who can see her kids for two straight hours in an empty nest,” the cookbook author wrote alongside a photo of her son in uniform. “Please let me know when you know. (I love you, Todd. ❤️)”

Lee and Rudd have been together since 1996, but now that their children have left the nest, they’re finding new ways to spend time together. According to Lee’s Instagram posts, the pair have been enjoying “new activities” and romantic outings over the years. On what the TV star called “empty nest day 14,” she and Rudd dressed up to attend a wedding.
“He was handsome and had a glass of beer!” Lee captioned a social media update of the event.

During the pandemic, Lee’s children rallied to help their Kitchen star mom continue filming despite stay-at-home orders.
“It was an incredibly bonding experience for my kids and me,” she said at the time.

Alex gave his Instagram followers a glimpse into their family bond as he answered questions about their sibling relationship in a series of Instagram Stories. The oldest of the five said she and Todd, the youngest, are especially close despite their age difference.
“Todd and I are more similar, and Bryce, Paige, and Jammer are more similar,” Alex explained. “We have that connection.”

Still, Alex elaborated that the five of them “have a really fun dynamic” as a group.
“I feel like I have a unique and fun relationship with all of my siblings,” Drummond’s daughter and co-worker said on social media. “We all have very different personalities, but we all have so much fun together.” “I feel like I’m more myself when I’m with my brothers than with anyone else.”
