Cher believes Kristen Bell is more deserving than her husband Dax Shepard.
On Monday’s episode of Shepard’s podcast, “Armchair Expert,” Shepard confronted the “Believe” singer, asking who she thought would be a “dream partner” for Bell.
“I mean, I know you think she could be better, and I don’t disagree with that,” the “CHiPs” actor pointed out.
The Grammy winner didn’t have a particular “Burlesque” co-star in mind, but replied, “Actually, I trust her, so you’ve got to have something that I don’t see.”
Shepherd, 51, told the 79-year-old pop star that he is “not intimidated” by seeing his wife shine, declaring: “I love her. The more she shines, the better.”
He also said that he “understands that no one is good enough (for Bell).”
Bell, who was seated next to Cher during the podcast, agreed that Shepard is “almost too good” for her and called him a “slow burn.”
The Witches of Eastwick star replied to the comedian, who shares Belle with siblings Lincoln, 12, and Delta, 11: “You seem like a good dad.”
After the “Veronica Mars” alum agreed that her husband is “the best father ever,” Shepard joked, “When we have guests, we put on a good show.”
“That was the first time I held my daughter in two years, just because you were here. I wanted to impress you,” he joked.
Belle and Cher met while filming Burlesque, which was released in 2010.
At the time, the “Nobody Wants This” actress and Shepard were engaged and married three years later.
But their relationship came under fire in October after Bell posted an “incredibly tone-deaf” anniversary post on social media.
“Happy 12th wedding anniversary to the man who once said to me, ‘I will never kill you. Many men have killed their wives at some point. I have a strong motive to kill you, but I will never kill you.’ ❤️,” she captioned a photo of them cuddling in bed, with some fans pointing out that she “posted this during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.”
