What you need to know
Chloe Fineman’s family has a new dog. And there is an interesting way to protect your home from puppies.
On Wednesday, Dec. 31, the 37-year-old Saturday Night Live star took fans into her parents’ home to show off not only the adorable puppy, but also how her mom prepared the house for the pet.
“My mom got a puppy and she lost her mind,” the comedian said in an Instagram video of himself standing next to his dad.
Both her mother, Ellen Gunn, and father, David Feynman, were tagged in the clip.
“Now let me give you a guided tour of how we protect your kitchen,” David said in the video.
The scene then switches from the father and daughter duo in the living room to them in the kitchen, with David standing behind a black puppy gate.
“We always have[something]clamped here,” Chloe says off camera, demonstrating how she secured the gate with a spring clamp. “So this has been going on here forever,” she continued, panning around the room to show wire gates installed along the floor and cabinets.
David can be heard urging her to be careful, and Chloe says, “Mommy, this is insane.”
Then there was a tutorial about how the family was able to function (or, really, couldn’t function) in the house thanks to puppy proofing.
“Time to sit down!” Chloe said as her father sat down in a leather chair surrounded by a barbed wire fence.

David yelled and playfully grabbed his crotch in agony as Chloe laughed.
Chloe tried to sit next to her, but screamed in exaggerated pain and grabbed her genitals as her father asked off-camera what had happened.
Now, back in the kitchen, Chloe says sarcastically: “I think you’ll be very thoughtful if you move here.”

“I can barely open the bin,” Chloe laments later, laughing as she shows off the dog proof her mother made.
After a long tour to see how difficult the gate is making their lives, Chibby finally appears on camera and takes command.
Chloe also showed off her mom’s “puppy picnic table”, which she placed in the center of the dining room.
The actress, who turned 69 this summer, is no stranger to raising puppies. In March 2025, she spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about her Shiba Inu, Peach.
“He looks like a peach. He sounds like a peach. He’s sweet as a peach. And I was really interested in that because Georgia was swinging the (2020) election at the time,” she said of the origin of the dog’s name.

she recalled while sharing how she keeps her dogs in shape with Hill’s Pet Nutrition. “I had the same breed when I was a kid, and by the end, my dog really looked like an ottoman. He was very stocky.”
She added that finding the right food for your pet “doesn’t have to be complicated.”
