Country singer Zach Bryan has married his girlfriend Samantha Leonard, one year after his love life was in the spotlight following Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia’s abuse allegations.
Brian has been married once before and went public with another relationship before his romance with LaPaglia.
Brian doesn’t often praise his lovers, but they’re clearly the inspiration for his hit songs.
In “Mine,” released in May 2020, he sings, “I hate the man I am/But when you’re mine, I’ll love him.” “When you’re mine/No, I’m not that mad/When you’re mine/This world owes me nothing.”
The performer later admitted that the song was about his ex-wife, Rose Madden.
Get to know Brian’s ex-spouse, current spouse, and ex-girlfriend Deb Pifer and LaPaglia below.

Brian and Madden served together in the U.S. Navy before marrying in July 2020.
The two divorced the following year, which Madden confirmed in a May 2021 TikTok video.
“When your ex-husband leaves and you have to cook potatoes in a goddamn pumpkin pie pan,” she captioned the footage.
According to Holler, Madden’s middle name is Elizabeth, and fans believe she was the inspiration for Brian’s 2020 album of the same name.
Initially, their photo appeared on the record cover, but it was later changed to a black background on the streaming service.
Madden ended her marriage and revealed in February 2024 that she was dating a man named Sebastian.
Deb Pifer
Brian began dating Pifer in early 2022, but they announced their “mutual” breakup in May of the following year.
“With transparency and respect, I would like to let everyone know that Debra and I went our separate ways about a week and a half ago. We are leaving with lots of memories and good times,” he wrote in 2023’s X.
After being “alone for a while,” Pifer told her TikTok followers in September 2024 that she was dating again.
Brianna “Chicken Fry” LaPaglia
LaPaglia acknowledged her and Brian’s “fun and casual” romance on a July 2023 “PlanBri Uncut” podcast episode after “three weeks… together.”
The couple packed on the PDA during their red carpet debut at the Grammy Awards the following February.
Celebrating their one-year anniversary, Brian exclaimed on social media: “Brianna, I love you so much. You’re the only person who makes me laugh often anymore. I’m proud to call you my girl.”
He announced their split in October 2024, writing on Instagram that he felt it was “mutually beneficial for us to go our separate ways” after “it’s been an incredibly difficult year for me personally.”
LaPaglia, who was “blindsided” by Bryan’s decision to make their breakup public, revealed details about Bryan’s alleged emotional abuse on a November 2024 episode of “BFFs.”
She also claimed that she “didn’t want blood money” and turned down $12 million to sign a non-disclosure agreement regarding their relationship.
Although the Grammy winner did not directly respond to his ex-girlfriend’s claims, he did repost a cryptic Jack Kerouac quote that read, “I didn’t know what to say. I almost cried. Oh my god, everyone in the world is holding you to an explanation for what you do and who you are.”

In March 2025, Brian made his romance with Hannah Duncan official on Instagram.
The songwriter posted a photo of the Australian model on the beach after a “6am half marathon.”
It’s unclear when he and Duncan called it quits.

By August 2025, Brian had moved on and that’s when news broke that he was dating Samantha Leonard.
Fans were quick to point out the striking similarities between Leonard and LaPaglia, with LaPaglia’s friend Dave Portnoy calling the resemblance “insane.”
Brian and Leonard were married in December 2025 in Spain.
The groom confirmed the wedding in an Instagram post with the caption, “It was harder than most.”
