Brooks Nader is reflecting on his upbringing in Louisiana and whether he will return to the southern state.
Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE about her new partnership with Samsung SmartThings, the 28-year-old Love Thy Nader star said she splits her time between Los Angeles and New York City, and currently calls both cities home.
Despite growing up in Maringuan, Louisiana, a small town outside of Baton Rouge, Nader says he’s used to the fast-paced nature of city life and has no plans to leave it anytime soon.
“I’ll never go back,” the model tells People, saying she might return to her hometown someday. “I love[Louisiana]so much,” she declares. “But we’ll never look back.”

Nader said there’s always a reason to come back and visit, whether it’s to see family (“that’s number one,” she says) or to watch Louisiana State University football games under new coach Lane Kiffin.
“But no, I’m not going to live there. Once you go to the city, you can’t go back. You know what I mean? Once you get a taste of life there, there’s no going back,” she explains.
The reality star’s parents, Bro Nader and Holland Greene Nader, still call Louisiana home and are longtime LSU Tigers fans. They often took Brooks and her three sisters, Mary Holland, Grace Ann, and Sarah Jane, to LSU games from an early age.
Brooks also shares residence with her sisters in New York City. This was documented in season 1 of the reality show Love Thy Nader. Although each of the sisters has made a name for herself in the city through modeling and other ventures, Brooks, the eldest, admits that none of the sisters is likely to settle down in their home state.

“I mean, my parents hope that doesn’t happen because they still live in Louisiana, but that’s not the case for us,” Brooks added.
In a previous interview with PEOPLE in August, Brooks and her sisters opened up about the conservative small town they grew up in and how their families, who still live there, react to the crazy shenanigans on their new reality show.

“With my family back home in Louisiana, obviously I was like, ‘Hey, are you going to be on TV like real TV?'” Brooks said at the time. “So, I think they were shocked, but not shocked, because that’s who we are. But they don’t know what they’re about to see. We watched the first three episodes and were like…”
“There’s going to be a lot of surprises,” Mary Holland interjects, and Sarah Jane admits, “We’ve already done some damage control.”
