What you need to know
It’s been a big year for Sabrina Carpenter, from career highs to family disasters.
Ahead of the New Year, the “House Tour” singer, 26, reflected on the past 12 months of her life in a series of Instagram Story posts on Wednesday, Dec. 31, revealing that at some point in 2025, she accidentally set her bathroom on fire.
Many of Carpenter’s IG Stories feature positive moments, from collaborating with Dolly Parton on the “Please Please Please” remix to singing with Paul Simon on Saturday Night Live. She also shared her Vogue cover photo, filming the “Manchild” video, releasing “Man’s Best Friend” and performing around the world on the Short and Sweet Tour.

However, a post at the end of Carpenter’s 2025 flashback featured a shot of a fire-damaged sink and what appeared to be a candle nearby. “I accidentally set my bathroom on fire,” she wrote with a white heart emoji.
It’s unclear when the incident happened, but the Grammy winner isn’t the only pop star to experience an accidental house fire.
Britney Spears revealed she burned down her home gym in 2020, and Carpenter’s past tourmates Taylor Swift and Gracie Abrams set fire to the kitchen of the “Karma” artist’s New York apartment while working on their 2024 collaboration “Us.”

Earlier this month, Carpenter treated fans to a year-end treat with Man’s Best Friend’s new bonus track, “Such a Funny Way.”
In an Instagram post, she told fans she would be releasing the song on Dec. 24, “Thank you for an amazing year… and to provide a cathartic Christmas song to those who need it.”
“I love you all so much,” Carpenter continued. “Thank you for cherishing these songs as much as I do and for such a special 2025!! I feel lucky to know that there are still so many good things to come.”
