An employee at Disney World’s Hollywood Studios was hit by a prop rock during a screening of “Indiana Jones: Epic Stunt Spectacular!” A stage show after a 400 pound rubber ball goes out of orbit.
Video of the accident shared on social media shows a rock bouncing off its intended trajectory and falling onto the stage. Staff members rushed to the rock and tried to stop it before it touched the audience, but the impact from the support was too strong and it collapsed. Another cast member quickly rushed to help before the video stopped.
“We are committed to supporting our cast members during their recovery,” a Disney spokesperson told Variety. “Safety is at the heart of what we do, and that element of the show will change as our safety team reviews what happened.”
“Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!” According to the Disney Parks Blog, the event is part of the Discovery Disney Event Series, which includes “educational backstage tours and sessions exclusive to program participants to learn more about how parks and resorts create magic for guests.”
