What you need to know
After Prime Video teased that Macaulay Culkin would be joining the cast of Fallout season 2, the actor finally made his debut on the post-apocalyptic series as a member of Caesar’s Legion in episode 3, which aired on Wednesday, December 31st.
His role as Lacerta’s envoy was officially announced on the show after Lucy (Ella Purnell) was captured by members of the Legion and taken to their camp. There she unsuccessfully begged him and others to release her, and even offered to help exchange a truce between their group and another faction of the Legion.
Eventually, a ghoul (Walton Goggins) comes to Lucy’s rescue and saves her from leaving her to die on a cross in the middle of the camp. After the two left, the ghouls destroyed the gap between the two legionary groups and left the camp in confusion.

Culkin’s first episode of Fallout was a small taste of what’s to come as Season 2 continues to lay the groundwork for a civil war between the Legion, the Republic of New California, and the Brotherhood of Steel. All of these organizations are in conflict for various reasons in order to survive in the resource-poor wilderness.
Culkin’s appearance in Fallout comes after the 45-year-old star has made several notable appearances on TV, including playing Mickey in Season 10 of American Horror Story and Goggins’ on-screen son Harmon in Season 2 of The Righteous Gemstones.

Goggins, 54, co-starred with Culkin on the HBO comedy, but was initially unaware that his former co-star had been cast in season two.
As for whether Culkin’s addition to the cast was his fault, the actor joked to PEOPLE, “I have very little influence.” “They don’t tell you too much, so I didn’t know him. I obviously knew Justin (Theroux), I knew John (Gries) and a few others, but I didn’t know Macaulay.”
“When they told me that, I just lit up, because I think it’s his world,” Goggins continues. “We had such a great time on ‘Righteous Gemstones’ and we became friends after that,” she added. “The way he fits into this world is very specific and he’s uniquely suited to it. I’m just so grateful he said yes and was a part of it.”

Goggins teases that Culkin’s role will “take you to places you don’t expect.”
Additionally, showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet told PEOPLE, “We were so honored to have him on board. I met him before we started, and he’s a very thoughtful person and I love what he brings to the role. I think he had a very specific read of what kind of character he wanted to play within the Corps, and he really translated that to the screen.”
“I love that because when you meet Caesar in the game, you see that even though he does such unethical things and runs a brutal society, he’s actually a very thoughtful guy,” the executive producer continues. I think that tension is very interesting.
Indeed, Robertson-Dworet is a longtime fan of the former child actor. “Of course, I was someone who grew up going to the theater many times to see ‘Home Alone’ as a kid. I thought it was really fun for us to see that innocent boy now running a slave society. It was delicious.”
New episodes of Fallout Season 2 will be released every Wednesday on Prime Video until the finale on February 4, 2026.
