The release of the fifth and final season of Stranger Things appears to have given momentum to the Broadway play Stranger Things: The First Shadow, which serves as a prequel to Netflix’s sci-fi series.
“Stranger Things: The First Shadow” grossed $2,510,948 for nine performances in the week ending December 28, making it the highest-grossing production ever for nine performances at the Marquis Theater, where it has been playing since April.
Ticket sales have reached an all-time high in the midst of the premiere of Stranger Things season 5, which is scheduled to have four episodes on Thanksgiving, three on Christmas, and the series finale on New Year’s Day. The same is true of the current production of “First Shadow” in London’s West End, where the play had its world premiere in 2023.
“Stranger Things” “The First Shadow” is set in Hawkins, Indiana in 1959, when “the Creel family is looking for a new start, especially their teenage son Henry, who wants to escape his troubled past.” He thrives, finds friendships, and attends school plays. But when a shocking crime wave hits the town, Henry is forced to face a terrifying truth. Is there something within him that connects him? What is the horror unfolding around him? ”
Jamie Campbell Bower, who plays Henry Creel aka Vecna in the TV series, appeared in the final scene of the recent Season 5 celebration of Stranger Things: The First Shadow.
