Heidi Klum admits she doesn’t know if her and husband Tom Kaulitz’s controversial bug and parasite cleanse actually worked.
“A lot of people asked me, too, ‘What happened?’ I’m like, ‘I don’t even know what happened!'” the model told People magazine in an interview published Saturday.
“It felt so good…if I had[bugs or parasites]I hope they were out of my body because I hear so many people talking about this all the time,” she added.
Klum, 52, thanked Kaulitz, 36, for joining her on the cleanse, saying, “It’s easier to do the cleanse with your partner in the morning because you don’t have to drink this weird stuff.”
“It’s all herbal, but nevertheless, it’s unpleasant and it’s like you have to do this routine of doing it every day to kill the herbs in all the eggs,” she explained.
“You should do two rounds, not two weeks. I did two rounds hoping to kill the eggs and stuff. But I felt great afterwards.”
Ms. Klum gave an update on her results after sharing with Ms. Kaulitz in an August interview with the Wall Street Journal that she was “going to get dewormed and dewormed for the first time.”
At the time, she said she got the idea after seeing information about bugs and parasites on Instagram.
The “Project Runway” host said she had never done a cleanse before, even though she had heard she should do it once a year.
“We don’t know what’s going to happen,” Krumm said.
The television personality was asked if she knew if she or Kaulitz had the parasite.
“Apparently, we all have parasites and parasites. For example, if you’re someone who occasionally eats raw foods like sushi;” she said, explaining that you can get rid of them with herbal supplements.
But a New York-based gastroenterologist warned against Klum’s comments.
“Not everyone has parasites and parasites as part of their normal microbiome,” Dr. David Purow told the Post, explaining that “there are no clear, proven benefits to these cleanses.”
Medical experts also warned against using the herb as high doses “may cause liver damage.”
