Prince William and Duchess Kate celebrated their win for director Robert Irwin’s Dancing with the Stars with a sweet message.
“Congratulations Robert and Witney!” the Prince and Princess of Wales, both 43, wrote under Irwin’s Instagram post on Wednesday.
In the post, Irwin, 21, shared a video of himself celebrating on stage with professional partner Witney Carson after winning the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy and being hoisted into the air by some of his co-stars.
“Dreams do come true ❤️,” Irwin, who received a special message from Prince William earlier in the season, captioned the video.
Irwin and Carson were named the winners of the Season 34 “DWTS” Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy during Tuesday’s three-hour finale.
The win was the first in 10 years since Bindi Irwin, the zookeeper’s sister, won the dance competition series with Derek Hough.
Robert honored his brother at the gala, saying winning the same honor as his sister meant “everything to him.”
“It meant everything to me to follow in those footsteps and do the same thing,” the Australian conservationist told People after the show’s finale. “This completely changed my life.”
Robert added that his sister’s victory was special at the time as it highlighted the sisters’ conservation work, charity work and Australian Zoo and Wildlife Warriors.
“It’s about making the world a better place, and when I saw her hold up the mirror ball, I knew she was holding up that message,” he said.
Robert’s win was a special one after it was revealed before the performance that he had injured his ribs during rehearsals.
Second place went to Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy, third place went to Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa, fourth place went to Dylan Efron and Daniela Karagach, and fifth place went to Elaine Hendricks and Alan Bersten.
