Jonathan Groff and Bowen Yang shared a warm and flirty moment together during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
The Broadway and “Saturday Night Live” stars each performed dance numbers with the “Just in Time” cast at the beginning of Groff’s performance. It ended with Grof kissing Jan’s hand. Groff will star in a Broadway musical about the life of singer Bobby Darin.
The Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade is a ratings giant on NBC and Peacock, drawing more than 31 million viewers last year.
At this year’s Broadway Actors on Actors, Groff spoke with “Sunset Blvd.” star Nicole Scherzinger talks about channeling real people from another world.
“Bobby Darin was a Playboy crooner,” he said. “I’m a guy from Amish country, Pennsylvania. Who would have thought we would have so much in common? But we both have a deep, passionate connection with the audience, which we say is the only relationship he was good at. This immersive experience of being in the audience and looking into people’s eyes…I’m showering them with sweat and spit. I’m like a sprinkler going around.”
The cast of “Just in Time” also includes Sarah Hyland, Sadie Dickerson, Emily Bergl, and Joseph Barbara.
Yang is no stranger to the world of musicals and is one of the stars of “Wicked: For Good,” which has been a box office smash this holiday season and is expected to add an additional $100 million to its box office receipts from Wednesday through Sunday.
