David Geffen and her estranged husband, David Armstrong, are one step closer to ending their marriage.
A judge ruled on Nov. 18 that the billionaire music executive’s marriage to Mr. Armstrong will be dissolved on Monday, Nov. 24, and both will be declared legally single, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.
The decision comes eight months after Geffen, 82, filed for divorce from Armstrong, 32, in May after two years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences, listing their separation date as February 22, 2025.
The estranged couple did not have a prenup, and recent court documents indicate that spousal support, property division, and attorney fees will be determined at a later date.
The divorce case took a turn in July when dancer Armstrong sued Geffen for breach of contract, accusing him of reneging on his promise to provide her with “lifelong support” during the divorce.

Mr. Armstrong claimed that Mr. Geffen evicted him and cut him off from financial support, and that their courtship, marriage and eventual breakup exposed a “dark power dynamic” between them.
He also claimed that Geffen was “exploited by a billionaire behind a veneer of philanthropy” and that she gave “her body, her love, her labor, her youth” to satisfy Geffen.
Mr. Geffen’s lawyer called the lawsuit “false” and “pathetic” at the time, and Mr. Armstrong filed a motion in October to dismiss the case without prejudice.
The two got married in March 2023. It remains unclear how they met, but Armstrong claims in his filing that Geffen sought him out on the website SeekingArrangements.com and paid him $10,000 for sex the first night they met.
According to Forbes, Geffen is worth $9.1 billion. He is the founder of Asylum Records and Geffen Records, and co-founder of DreamWorks Animation. He owns many luxury properties and has a large modern art collection.
