Jennifer Lawrence recently told V magazine that the release of a movie can be a “horrible” experience for her emotionally as the world decides whether what she made is good or not.
“That experience just adds to the fear, because I’ve had so many experiences where you work so hard on something, you love something so deeply, and you release it to the world and the world is just like, ‘Boo! I hate it!’ It’s so awful,” Lawrence said. “And[yet]somehow you read the script, you meet with the director, you get on set, you start shooting. And somehow you manage to forget that this part of the process happens. I mean, I’m very blessed, I’m very lucky. But it’s a very scary few months.”
“My husband doesn’t have much experience with this, so he was very confused,” she continued. “So I told him about my anxiety and he said, ‘But this movie is great.’ And I thought, ‘I know, but that’s not the point.’ People might not understand. ‘And he said, ‘But they’re wrong.’ As if that was supposed to make me feel better. ”
Lawrence has been making rounds in the press in recent weeks to support his latest drama, “Die My Love.” She stars in the film as a new mother who falls into psychosis. Robert Pattinson plays the useless husband. The director of this movie is Lynne Ramsay.
In several recent interviews, Lawrence has been brutally honest about his anxiety about being interviewed during the film’s press tour. She told Vanity Fair in 2021 that she took a two-year hiatus from Hollywood because “everyone was tired of me. I was tired of it.” Speaking to The New Yorker last month, Lawrence admitted that she understands why people would “reject” her persona because she was actually “annoying” in an old interview.
“Well, that was my true personality, or so it was, but it was also a defense mechanism,” Lawrence said of Too Much Away in an interview. “So my defense mechanism was, ‘I’m not that kind of person! I poop in my pants every day!'” …When you watch that interview, that guy is annoying. I understand that you get irritated when you see that person anywhere. ”
“Die My Love” is now being released nationwide. To read Lawrence’s full interview, visit V Magazine’s website.
