What you need to know
Scott Kelly has arrived.
On Thursday, Nov. 13, the promising job seeker who went viral after a TikTok user spotted an employer reading his resume at a Jonas Brothers concert finally met the pop stars (who vouched for him in the comments section of the video) on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Kelly also spoke with The Washington Post earlier Thursday, telling host Jimmy Fallon that he heard from a friend in his MBA program that his resume had gone viral. She then revealed a surprising connection to Brandon Bieron, the man whose resume is scrolling through her in the video. Kelly explained that he had already been saved by one of his contacts, as they served in the same U.S. Army infantry battalion at Fort Drum in New York in 2014.
The story took an even stranger turn when Kelly stated that she never actually applied for the job. He told the Post that he is “gainfully employed” by the telecommunications company. But he has forged a connection with Mr. Bieron, who now runs Reimer Home Services and focuses on hiring veterans. He will also appear on an upcoming episode of Kelly’s national security podcast, “At the Water’s Edge,” Kelly told Fallon.
Fallon and the Jonas Brothers claimed they were all hearing about Kelly’s career for the first time. Kelly, 36, then made another surprising statement.
“Can I share the truth? I’ve never heard of you before,” Kelly told the Jonas Brothers. “I didn’t watch Disney Channel when I was a kid, so I didn’t know!”
Fallon ended the segment by sharing a QR code to Kelly’s LinkedIn profile.

The original video was posted on Monday, November 10th, and has since racked up nearly 50 million views on TikTok.
In the video, Jen Wilson was seated one row behind Bieron, who was glued to her phone and reading her resume during the live event. “Scott Kelly, your resume was being judged at tonight’s Jonas Brothers concert. Good luck,” Wilson wrote above the video.
Almost instantly, the public (including the “Only Human” hitmakers) rallied around Kelly, hoping he would get the job.

“Scott Kelly’s work ethic and critical thinking inspired me to write the ‘Red Dress’ line,” Nick commented.
“My brother, Scott Kelly, has helped me many times. He was hired ✅,” Joe added.
Kevin also joined in on the fun, playfully writing, “I’m one of Scott Kelly’s references.”
But the brothers weren’t the only ones to jump on the Scott Kelly bandwagon, with popular brands also throwing their weight behind Kelly.
