She is ready to “speak now”.
Travis Kelsey’s ex-girlfriend apologized via Instagram Story on Thursday for a controversial past post that recently resurfaced.
“I would like to take a moment to apologize for a deeply hurtful tweet I posted many years ago,” the 34-year-old began.
“It was incredibly difficult to see them resurface last week. Reading it now, I’m ashamed to have thought or spoken that way,” Nicole added, calling the posts “ignorant, harmful and completely wrong.”
She added: “I would never use such words or express such views now.”
Nicole went on to appear to subtly attack Taylor Swift fans, writing, “Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand how cruel and harmful online hate can be.”
“I never want to add to that world of pain in any way. I then permanently deleted those tweets and my X account because I refused to keep that energy alive or add to the cycle of hate,” she said.
The host of the “Pregame” podcast continued: “I take full responsibility for my posts and am truly sorry to anyone I may have hurt.” “My heart, values and perspective are completely rooted in empathy, love and respect for others.”
She concluded, “While I cannot change the past, I will continue to show through my actions who I have become and what I stand for today.”
The social media upload comes a week after Nicole, who dated Kelsey on and off from 2017 to 2022, deactivated her X account.
At the time, homophobic slurs and racist comments made by Nicole in the early 2010s were going viral on the platform.
The revelation comes after Nicole made headlines for her questionable Halloween costume, which was widely believed to be a criticism of Kelsea and Swift.
She dressed up as Toni Braxton for the “He Wasn’t Man Enough” music video.
Nicole has since insisted that the ensemble was not worn with the intention of “bringing other women down” and that she was only wearing it to “celebrate” Braxton.
She admitted that the costume was inspired by someone named Taylor, but it wasn’t what fans had guessed.
Instead, Nicole said the idea stemmed from a “very specific” moment with her “white best friend” from childhood.
Last month, Swift appeared to harshly diss Nicole on her album The Life of a Showgirl.
In “Oparite,” the pop star, who has been co-starring with Kelce since 2023, cast a shadow over her fiance’s past romance.
In the hit song released in October, the 35-year-old singer jabbed, “You were really in it, she was in the cell phone.” “And you were just posing.”
