Elizabeth Berkley reimagines her most iconic film role in a glamorous new campaign for Betsey Johnson.
The “Showgirls” actress was photographed wearing a glittering black blazer-like minidress with a dramatic black feather headdress to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the 1995 cult classic film.
She accessorized with black fishnet stockings for the perfect old-school showgirl look.
In another sequin-encrusted photo, Barclay, 53, modeled a white ruffled high-low skirt paired with a lace blazer, accessorizing with a headpiece that also featured a statement white feather.
The Saved by the Bell star was also photographed stepping off the soundstage wearing a tiered white tulle dress, complete with a lace blazer and a whimsical feathered headpiece.
Actress “Moulin Rouge”! The inspired look was accessorized with show-stopping fishnet stockings and sparkling white heels.
Ms. Berkley, whom the designer called the “original showgirl” in a press release, also posed alongside Ms. Johnson in a series of photos.
She wore an iridescent purple robe lined with pink feathers and smiled next to Johnson, who wore a dazzling pink and black dress with lace sleeves and a feathered collar. Berkeley accessorized her “Showgirls”-inspired look with a hot pink headdress worthy of the Las Vegas stage.
In a separate photo from the glamorous shoot, Barkley is seen lounging with her feet up in black slacks and a voluminous hot pink feather boa wrapped around her neck.
In the stunning final photo, she straddled a chair in a silver bodysuit with fringed shoulder pads, at one point checking out her dazzling figure in the mirror.
“The campaign reimagines the cult classic film through Betsy’s iconic lens of bold color, camp drama, and all-out confidence, inviting everyone to take their own spotlight and turn heads this season,” the press release reads, “fusing fantasy and nostalgia into a purely eye-catching spectacle.”
The release also described Berkley’s appearance in the campaign as “personal,” noting that she “famously spent her first salary from Saved by the Bell at a Betsey Johnson store and wore the designer’s dresses to her audition and screen test for Showgirls.”
“Betsy’s designs have always embodied confidence, bold personality, and playfulness,” the actress explained in the release, adding that she has been wearing Johnson’s designs since she was a teenager.
“Like the perfect mixtape, her clothes were the soundtrack to so many memories that marked different ages, stages, and milestones in my life,” she continued.
“It feels truly magical to be able to celebrate this full-circle moment now, the anniversary of this beautiful campaign with Showgirls and Betsy.”
