Charlie Sheen promotes prenuptial agreements on his book tour.
The actor opened up about his “messy” and “expensive” divorce during a candid conversation in Atlantic City, New Jersey over the weekend.
According to the Daily Mail, the “Two and a Half Men” alum recalled being “really busy” while filming the hit show.
“It actually didn’t really matter what was going on at work,” the Emmy nominee clarified. “It was so personal that it was almost impossible not to bring it to work.”
He continued, “In those eight years I had four kids and went through two really messy divorces. And it cost money!”
While playing Charlie Harper on screen from 2003 to 2011, Sheen was married to Denise Richards and Brooke Mueller.
Sheen, 60, had daughters Sami, now 21, and Lola, now 20, while married to the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum, 54, from 2002 to 2006.
Twin sons Bob and Max, now 16, were born during his and Mueller’s three-year marriage.
Later, when a fan asked if this meant the “Spin City” star was “saying he would sign a prenuptial agreement,” Sheen urged the couple to do so “if they can.”
The “Wall Street” alum admitted, “There’s going to be some backlash. But maybe she wants you to sign it. Maybe it’s a two-way street.”
Notably, Sheen signed a 60-page prenuptial agreement with Mueller when they broke up in 2020.
However, when he and Richards broke up, the former couple did not have premarital sex.
The reality star admitted this on a 2010 episode of RHOBH, saying, “Charlie and I didn’t have a prenup when we got married, and I could have asked for half of the money he earned when we divorced.”
She added that she “didn’t” because she’s not “greedy.”
Both Richards and Mueller participated in Sheen’s Netflix docuseries Aka Charlie Sheen, which was released in September.
In addition to the show featuring the Golden Globe winner’s failed marriage, she wrote about her turbulent relationship in her memoir, Book of Scenes, released the same month.
Sheen was married once more, having a brief marriage to model Donna Peele from 1995 to 1996.
As for his current love life, the “Platoon” star has been single for nearly 10 years, he recently told Page Six.
“For a long time, all I cared about was (sex), or it was near the top of my priority list, so I saw (singledom) as a much-needed break from those pursuits,” he explained.
Sheen said he has no intention of “closing the door on anything in the future” and is open to “becoming an ally” someday.
