“No Other Choice” “Voice of Hind Rajab” Top Asian World Film Festival

The Asian World Film Festival will be held from November 11 to 20, screening films from more than 30 Asian countries, including 20 films selected for the international Oscar race. The competition lineup consists of 15 films vying for the Snow Leopard trophies for Best Film, Actor, Actress, Jury Discretion, Special Jury Award, and Audience Award.

The festival opens with Park Chan-wook’s No Other Choice and closes with Kauser Ben Hania’s The Voice of Hind Rajab. AWFF’s other festival hits include Cannes Palme d’Or winner Jafar Panahi’s “It Was Just an Accident.” “A Useful Ghost” directed by Ratchaphum Bumbunchachok. “The Left-Handed Girl” by See Ching Tso. “Palestine 36” by Annemarie Jacir. “All That’s Left of You” directed by Sherian Davis. and “The Things You Kill” by Alireza Khatami.

The AWFF lineup also includes six world premiere films. “Love and Karma” directed by Ilara Venzara and Giovanni Espiritu. “Doggy” by Slava Ros. “Sisterhood” directed by Yoon Eun-kyung. “The Forgotten Record of Genocide – The Kissinger Doctrine” directed by Ramesh Sharma. And Shinju’s “The Favor”.

The US premiere was Dragon Blade (2015, 10th anniversary), directed by Daniel Lee and starring Jackie Chan, Adrien Brody, and Cyril Cusack. “Marching Boys” directed by Juyi Chi Cheung. “The Summer Will End” by helmers Maxim Albugaev and Vladimir Munkuev. “Family Secret” directed by Lee Sang-hoon. Directed by Yandy Lawrence, “Sore: Wife from the Future” will be released in North America for the first time.

“From the beginning, our mission has been to celebrate the incredible diversity of Asian filmmaking,” AWFF Executive Director Georges N. Chamchoum said in a statement. “Over the past 11 years, we have championed films from more than 50 Asian countries and six Asian regions, each offering a unique perspective and artistry. Their stories have excited, moved and inspired us, giving us a glimpse into Asia’s vibrant soul.”
