Chris Evans’ father-in-law appears to have revealed the news of his baby’s birth, months before the Captain America star welcomed his first child with wife Alba Baptista.
In June, Alba’s father Luis Baptista responded to a post on an Instagram fan account wishing Alba and Chris’ father G. Roberts Evans III “Happy Father’s Day,” leading fans to believe that the star would soon become a father.
“Thank you, Chris. Your turn has come!” Lewis commented at the time, according to X’s post.
Comments have since been turned off on this post.
The original post read, “Happy Father’s Day to Bob Evans and Luis Baptista,” and featured a side-by-side old photo of the two patriarchs.
“Thank you for bringing two wonderful human beings into the world. And Happy Father’s Day to you all!”
TMZ reported on Tuesday that Evans, 44, and Baptista gave birth to their first child in Massachusetts on Saturday.
The infant’s gender and name were not included in the report.
The Marvel star married Baptista, 28, in two separate wedding ceremonies in Portugal and Massachusetts in 2023.
The pair have typically kept quiet about their romance, but Evans previously revealed that he proposed to his now-wife in his native Portuguese.
“She’s Portuguese, so I learned how to say, ‘Will you marry me?'” in Portuguese. “I’ve been practicing all week,” he said in June.
“I was really nervous when it came to doing it,” Evans admitted. “In fact, I think I failed, and I still know it.”
The two stars went public with their relationship in 2022, but it remains unclear when they started dating.
