Jeremy Allen White transforms into the boss of Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere.
The biopic, which hit theaters on October 24, sees White portray Bruce Springsteen during a pivotal and emotional period in his life: the recording and release of his 1982 album Nebraska. Prior to the film’s release, White met with Springsteen, who also worked on the film, and said he felt “lucky” to have Springsteen’s support.
“Bruce has been really nice, supportive and empathetic, which has made this whole process so much fun,” White said after accepting the Emmy Award in September 2024. “With his support and the support of his manager Jon Landau, I think we’re very happy to have him play such a big role in the film.” “So I feel really lucky that, yeah, we’re getting there.”
In addition to White, the biopic also stars Jeremy Strong as Springsteen’s longtime manager Jon Landau, Johnny Cannizzaro as Steve Van Zandt, and Stephen Graham as the rocker’s father, Douglas Springsteen.

In Deliver Me From Nowhere, White plays a young Springsteen working on his sixth studio album while recording the E Street Band’s iconic 1984 record, Born in the USA.
Although White has never sung in front of a camera before, she told Variety magazine in June 2024, “I’m going to give it my all.”
Springsteen also praised White’s performance at the New York Film Festival in September 2025, giving Springsteen a special shout-out.
“I want to thank everyone who came to see the movie tonight, the crew, and the amazing cast,” Springsteen said on stage. “Jeremy Allen White really put his heart and soul into the role and did a really great job and made me look even better.”
The musician added: “I’m really grateful.”
White was best known for his role in Shameless, but he gained great fame after starring in The Bear.

One of the most important people in Springsteen’s life is his manager Jon Landau. The two have worked together since Springsteen’s rise to fame in the 1970s, and Landau has attended many of Springsteen’s recording studio sessions since then.
Strong takes on the role following the October 2024 release of The Apprentice, where he played Roy Cohn, a former lawyer to a young Donald Trump.
Landau told The Hollywood Reporter in October 2024 that he was excited about the casting choices, from White to Strong.
“I died and went to heaven,” the manager jokingly told the media upon hearing that a Succession alum would be taking over the role. “He’s a great guy. We’ve had a chance to get to know each other. I’m excited to see what he does and what I learn from it.”

Cannizzaro, best known for starring in Clint Eastwood’s Jersey Boys, plays Steve Van Zandt, the E Street Band guitarist and close friend of Springsteen.
Van Zandt has been open about his decades-long friendship with Springsteen, telling PEOPLE in June 2024 that he didn’t take their relationship “for granted.”
“We haven’t had that many friends in 60 years, and I think the fact that we’ve gone through some ups and downs says something about our character,” Van Zandt said. “The importance of friendship in general, that’s what attracted me to being in a band rather than being a solo show businessman.”
The musician shared his thoughts on the biopic during the film’s premiere, telling 93.3 WMMR that director Scott Cooper did a “great job.”
“This is a stunning work of art,” he continued.
Paul Walter Hauser as Mike Batlan

Paul Walter Hauser plays Mike Batlan, Springsteen’s guitar technician from the early 1970s to the late 1980s. While Springsteen was recording Nebraska, Batlan was asked to set up the recording at his boss’s home in Colts Neck, New Jersey.
Batran played a key role in the album’s production, but not much is known about him as he has largely lived out of the public eye.
Hauser is an Emmy Award-winning actor who previously appeared in 2019’s “Richard Jewell” and played the voice of Embarrassment in “Inside Head 2.”
Odessa Young as Faye

Odessa Young plays Faye, Springsteen’s girlfriend in the film. She is the only character in the film not based on a real person, as Faye is a composite character drawn from the relationships of several musicians in the early 1980s.
In October 2025, the actress opened up to Stylist Magazine about what it was like to play the fictional character, calling the process “both daunting and liberating.”
“Ultimately, I approached Faye the same way I would normally approach any other fictional role: When you’re given these hints and then you walk away, it feels like a real person,” she said.
Young is an Australian actress known for the 2015 feature films Looking for Grace and The Daughter.
Stephen Graham as Douglas Springsteen

Graham plays the role of his musician father, Douglas Springsteen, with whom he had a strained relationship. The singer has previously opened up about his father struggling with mental illness and struggling to express his love for his son.
Their relationship inspired many of Springsteen’s most personal lyrics, including “Adam Raised a Cain,” “My Father’s House” and “Independence Day.”
In a 2016 Vanity Fair cover story, Springsteen claimed he never heard the words “I love you” from his father.
“The best part was ‘Love you, Pops.’ (Cut to his father’s gruff voice.) ‘Well, me too.’ Even after he had had a stroke and was crying, he said, ‘Me too.’ I could hear his voice break, but I couldn’t get the words out,” he said.
Graham has previously appeared in Peaky Blinders and the latter two Venom films. In 2025, she also won an Emmy Award for her role in Netflix’s Adolescence.

Gaby Hoffman plays Bruce’s mother, Adele Springsteen. She worked as a legal secretary for decades until her death in January 2024. She loved dancing and encouraged her son to pursue music.
“My mother had integrity, consistency, good humor, professionalism, grace, kindness, optimism, civility, fairness, pride in herself, responsibility, love, faith in her family, dedication, joy in her work, and an undying thirst to live and be. And most importantly, a thirst to dance,” Springsteen once said at a Springsteen performance on Broadway.
Hoffman was a child actor and appeared in several iconic films, including Field of Dreams and Uncle Buck. Most recently, he appeared in Netflix’s Eric.

Marc Maron joined the cast of Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere in November 2024 as Chuck Plotkin. This music producer was responsible for mastering Springsteen’s album Nebraska, and needed to convert raw cassette demos into high-quality audio.
Maron is best known for her role on Glow and her self-titled television series, which ran for four seasons.

David Krumholtz plays Al Teller, a record label executive who oversaw the release of Springsteen’s album Nebraska. Teller began his career in 1968 as an assistant to Clive Davis, eventually leading companies such as Columbia Records and MCA Records.
Krumholtz found success early in his career, appearing in the Santa Claus series alongside Tim Allen. He is also known as the main character of Numb3rs.
