“Mom” mode on.
Victoria Beckham has gushed about her “close family” despite her ongoing feud with her eldest son Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz.
While speaking with Alex Cooper on Wednesday’s episode of “Call Her Daddy,” the former Spice Girl took a step back and talked about the hardest part of letting kids make adult decisions.
“We’re a very close-knit family and communication is important, and we always let them know that this is a safe forum for whatever they want to talk about. That’s really important,” said Victoria, who has daughter Harper, 14, and sons Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 20, with husband David Beckham.
But she recognized that her children “had to go on their own journey.”
Victoria went on to slam people who “always refer to the children of famous parents as nepobabies,” quipping, “Give the kids a chance. It’s not their fault, you know?”
“Give your children a chance,” she continued. “All of our kids are really, really good, sweet, kind, human (and) hard-working. They don’t expect anything to happen (to them).”
The singer-turned-fashion designer also addressed how she and David are handling “conversations” about family.
“Again, it’s all about communication, and that’s what we’ve always done with our kids,” she said. “I’m excited for them. They’re all very different, (and) they all like to do different things.”
Victoria, 51, shared similar sentiments in an interview with Elle magazine in September, smiling that as a family they are “fun-loving.”
“We all like to spend time together. We’re a very traditional family, more traditional than people realize,” she pointed out.
“I’ve always tried to be the best mother and wife I can be,” she said, adding, “It’s healthy for my kids to know that daddy goes to work and mommy goes to work. Working allows me to be the best version of myself.”
In recent months, Brooklyn and Peltz have fueled rumors of a feud between the Beckhams, who refused to attend David’s 50th birthday party.
Sources told Page Six in June that the young chef did not respond to people trying to contact him and had told his family he did not want to contact him.
Since then, the couple has missed many family events, including vacations, Victoria’s Paris Fashion Week show, and the premiere of her mother’s Netflix documentary of the same name.
Meanwhile, the Beckhams have been left out of major moments in Brooklyn and Peltz’s lives, including their vow renewal in August.
In September, Brooklyn broke her silence on the rumored tensions, telling the Daily Mail:
“Me and her, we’re just doing what we’re supposed to do. We’re just putting our heads down and working. And we’re happy,” he insisted.
The photographer added of all the chit-chat: “Everyone says shit all the time.”
He was also snubbed when asked about his mother’s documentary on the red carpet at Blue Moon Burger Bash 2.0 in October.
The rest of the family has been similarly quiet, but Cruz has been spotted making cryptic posts on social media. He and Romeo also appear to have unfollowed his brother and sister-in-law on Instagram.
