Cinetic, a talent management and media advisory company known for its work with independent filmmakers, has signed screenwriter and bestselling author Gabriel Sherman.
Sherman, whose work often explores the intersection of politics and media, wrote the original screenplay for last year’s “The Apprentice,” which resulted in Oscar nominations for Sebastian Stan’s performance as a young Donald Trump and Jeremy Strong’s performance as amoral leader Roy Cohn. He is the author of the New York Times bestseller, The Loudest Voice in the Room, an expose of the inner workings of Fox News. Sherman helped develop the book into a limited series for Showtime, and won a Golden Globe Award for his performance as Russell Crowe as Fox News founder Roger Ailes. Seth MacFarlane and Sienna Miller co-starred in the series.
Sherman was a writer on the ABC drama Alaska Daily, created by Tom McCarthy and starring Hilary Swank. He is currently developing film and television projects with Amazon, North Road, and Oscar-nominated director Joseph Cedar (“Footnotes,” “Norman”).
Sherman is a correspondent for Vanity Fair. Next year, Simon & Schuster will publish his second book, a biography of Rupert Murdoch’s family.
In addition to Cinetic, Sherman will continue to be represented by WME and Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz.
Sherman is the latest addition to Cinetic’s growing talent roster, which already includes award-winning screenwriters, directors, producers and other up-and-coming talent.
