Chris Martin’s daughter Apple is also following in his musical footsteps.
The Coldplay frontman watched from the audience on Friday as the 21-year-old made her singing debut with the Jade Street Band at Nashville’s Cannery Hall.
In a fan video shared on TikTok, Apple belted out “Satellite” with musicians Eli Meyuhas and Zachery Zwelling.
This song is a collaboration between nepo baby and fellow students at Vanderbilt University.
Apple, who is credited as a composer on her father’s hit songs “Let Somebody Go” and “feelslikeimfallinginlove,” performed in a cropped white tank and black skirt.
According to the Vanderbilt Hustler, Martin, 48, “made it clear to his fans that while he enjoyed seeing them, he didn’t want the night to be focused on him because he was there to support his daughter.”
Social media users slammed her performance over the weekend, with some joking in the comments section that “the apple fell far from the tree.”
Another person labeled Apple “out of line” and quipped for a third time: “Wow. I don’t think she has any real friends to tell her. Baby, stop it. This is none of your business.”
However, others came to Apple’s defense and praised her singing ability.
One person claimed, “She wasn’t bad, we can all calm down,” while another wrote, “I really don’t hate her.”
Apple is Paltrow and Martin’s first child, and Paltrow and Martin are also parents to 19-year-old son Moses.
She’s been making headlines in recent months for her modeling projects, from her first big fashion deal with Self Portrait to a Gap Studios campaign with Paltrow, 53.
In an interview with the Telegraph last week, Apple explained why she doesn’t think she should be “entitled to anything” despite having famous parents.
“I always remind myself how grateful I am to have these opportunities,” she said. “We know this is by no means a normal way to grow up.
“But my parents taught me really well that you have to work,” Apple concluded.
