Britney Spears has claimed she has “brain damage” as the drama over her ex Kevin Federline’s memoir ‘You Thought You Knew’ continues.
“As some of you may know, I went through a traumatic experience at the end of the book. For four months, I no longer had my own door and was illegally forced to not use my legs or body to get anywhere,” the “Gimme More” singer wrote in a lengthy Instagram caption on Sunday, referring to her 2023 memoir, “The Woman in Me.”
Spears, 43, said the confinement “hurt[her]body,” adding, “ONE 100 percent killed and destroyed my body’s logic and mindfulness.”
“I couldn’t dance or move for 5 months…I know my posts and dancing looked silly anyway, but it reminded me how to fly,” she wrote.
“I feel like my wings were ripped off and I suffered a brain injury 100 percent a long time ago…Of course I’ve recovered from that difficult time in my life and I’m happy to be alive,” Spears continued.
The “Toxic” singer concluded the post by saying that while the long post may “sound so stupid,” it brings “substance” amidst all the “garbage” being spread about her.
Spears posted a photo of herself riding a horse with her back to the camera, along with the caption: In the photo, the Grammy winner wore white shorts, a black cowboy hat, and a shirt that exposed most of his back.
The pop star’s post comes as her second ex-husband prepares to publish a bombshell memoir containing shocking claims about Spears.
Federline, 47, claimed in her book that her ex-husband watched her sons Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, sleep while holding a knife.
The former backup dancer also claimed that Spears took cocaine while breastfeeding her children, beat her eldest son Sean, and wished the children were dead.
Ms. Federline wrote that she believed the “Crossroads” actress was “heading toward” a tragic end with her erratic behavior.
“From where I sit, the clock is ticking and the 11th hour is approaching. If things don’t change, something bad will happen. And my biggest fear is that my sons will be left behind,” he wrote.
In response to a leak from Federline’s upcoming book, Spears denied his claims and claimed that her money-hungry ex-girlfriend was “profiting off of[her]pain.”
“If you truly love someone, you don’t help them by humiliating them,” the hitmaker tweeted last week. “What scared me was how serious and angry he was. People don’t understand that, but it’s much worse than anyone could imagine.”
Spears claimed that the father of her two sons “hates” her and must have “deep anger to literally say the things he says.”
Federline and Spears married in September 2004 and welcomed sons Sean Preston and Jayden James in September 2005 and September 2006, respectively.
The pair divorced after three years of marriage and spent several years embroiled in a custody battle, further complicated by Spears’ controversial conservatorship.
In 2023, Federline moved to Hawaii with his sons and new wife Victoria Prince.
Ms. Federline’s memoir, “You Thought You Knew,” will be released on Tuesday.
