Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez avoided conflict at the Academy Museum Gala 2025 after reigniting their long-standing feud.
The Lorde founder enjoyed a girls’ night out with her best friend Kendall Jenner at an A-list event in Los Angeles on Saturday night.
Bieber, 28, looked chic in an espresso brown corset dress, while the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, 29, wore a black sleeveless dress.
Meanwhile, Gomez, 33, and husband Benny Blanco made their first carpet appearance as a married couple.
The “Only Murders in the Building” star wore a black strapless dress with a blazer draped over her shoulders.
Blanco, 37, paired his wife’s outfit with a black suit and silk striped shirt.
The couple, who married in September, lovingly held hands and posed for photographers.
Gomez and Bieber, 28, walked the carpet at separate times, but the latter appeared to throw shade at the actress during a conversation in an interview with The Wall Street Journal published on October 14.
During the interview, the Lord Skin founder was asked what she thought about competition from beauty products currently sold at Sephora alongside other brands, including Gomez’s Rare Beauty brand.
“I think there’s space for everyone,” Bieber told the magazine.
The model didn’t specifically mention Rare Beauty, but added, “I don’t feel competitive with people who don’t inspire me.”
The businessman also commented on shoppers comparing brands: “It’s always annoying to be pitted against others. I don’t want that.”
“If people want to see you a certain way and they’ve created a story about you in their minds, it’s not your responsibility to change it.”
A spokesperson for Hailey, who married Gomez’s ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber in 2018, told Page Six that Hailey’s comments were not directly “about Selena Gomez.”
Gomez later commented on Hailey’s comments via her Instagram Stories, writing, “Leave that girl alone. She can say whatever she wants. Leave her alone.”
“Nothing matters in my life. Only relevance matters, not intelligence. Please be kind. Every brand inspires me. There’s room for everyone, and hopefully we can all pause.”
The “Calm Down” singer and Hailey have been at odds for years, despite their efforts to prove they are friendly.
