Linden Entertainment has signed renowned director Tina Sutter for representation.
Mr. Sutter most recently co-wrote and directed HBO’s 2023 Venice film Reality, starring Sidney Sweeney as NSA whistleblower Reality Winner. Linden will oversee Sutter along with existing personnel UTA and Shrek Rose Dapello Adams Berlin and Dunham.
“Reality” is an adaptation of Sutter’s own stage play “Is This a Room,” and the screenplay was based on records of Winner’s interrogation by the FBI. The play won Sutter a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2020, a Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience, and an Obie Award for Special Citation, Conception, and Direction. The film version later won Sutter a Peabody Award.
Sutter is also the founder and artistic director of Half Straddle, a company formed in 2008 and awarded an Obie Award grant in 2013. She has been described by the New York Times as “a visually demanding stage artist who transcends genre and gender.”
Linden was founded in 2020 by Nicole King and Stacey O’Neill, who co-lead the company with Joanne Colonna and Riva Marker. Their management team includes bold names like Vin Diesel, Jennifer Garner, Eva Longoria, Amy Adams, Eiza Gonzalez, Ellen Pompeo, Vanessa Kirby, and Rachel Weisz. Their production duties are currently underway with MGM/Orion Pictures and Alesha Harris’ directorial debut, Is God Is.
The unit also produced David Adjmi’s acclaimed play Stereophonic, which won five Tony Awards, including Best Picture. The third division, Linden Ventures, has invested in and developed companies such as Mr. Garner’s One Upon a Firm, Molly Sims’ YSE Beauty, Mr. Gonzalez’s Casa Azul, and Brian Lee and Hilary Duff’s Below 60.
