Winter is coming.
Kristen Bell said the cast of “Frozen 3” will begin production on the third installment of the hit animated film musical series “soon.”
Bell, who plays Anna, has not yet heard the new songs for “Frozen 3,” but said she has seen the script for the movie.
“All I can say is this: I’m under strict control,” she said, while also explaining her screenwriting process.
“At first, it’s just a concept of, ‘I think this is where we should aim,'” Bell said. “The great thing about Disney is that they go through thousands of filters, not because they’re being diplomatic, but because everyone is trying to add something different. That’s why the movies do so well because they meet all the criteria without missing anything.”
“Frozen 3” is scheduled for release in 2027. Development visuals for the film, released in August 2024, depict Elsa (Idina Menzel) riding a white horse and Anna riding a brown deer.
Jennifer Lee, who co-directed the Oscar-winning Best Animated Feature film Frozen with Chris Buck, wrote and directed Frozen II, which is set in the fictional kingdom of Arendelle and features a voice cast led by Bell, Menzel, Jonathan Groff as Kristoff, and Josh Gad as the snowman Olaf.
The first “Frozen” premiered in 2013, with a sequel released six years later.
I met Bell on Thursday night at the season 2 premiere of Nobody Wants This at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood.
Bell’s Nobody Wants This co-star Adam Brody’s wife Leighton Meester will guest star in season 2, but Bell said her husband Dax Shepard would probably “never” do the same. “He likes podcasting,” she said, referring to “Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert.”
Well, “Nobody Wants This” is a story about two sisters who co-host a podcast. “But it’s still acting, and there’s a lot that goes with it. You’ve got to do your hair and makeup, you’ve got to memorize your lines, and you’re there all day long,” Bell said. “He’s very happy and satisfied with his career. I mean, obviously he would if I asked him, but I don’t want him to do anything that he doesn’t want.”
“Nobody Wants This” Season 2 premieres on Netflix on October 23rd.
