Lori Loughlin called off her marriage to Mossimo Giannulli after discovering “incriminating” texts and emails on his phone, Page Six claims.
“Really, the turning point was when Lori found a bunch of text messages,” a friend claimed.
The couple was embroiled in the Varsity Blues’ college admissions scandal and served time in prison. Both men admitted to paying a fixer $500,000 to get their daughters, Olivia Jade, now 26, and Isabella Giannulli, 27, into the University of Southern California under the false pretense that they were new rowing athletes.
“Mossimo has been taking advantage of Lori for years,” the friend claimed. “She had hoped that he might change once he got out of prison, but he got worse.”
The 61-year-old actress now “desires nothing to do” with her husband of 28 years, a friend said. “She wants her life back.”
Fashion designer Giannulli, 62, was spotted with stylist Hannah Harrison at the G/FORE Supply store in Beverly Hills, California, just hours after their split was announced. But Ms Harrison said it was “bad timing” and insisted they had only met to go shopping.
Loughlin and Giannulli’s daughters are “absolutely” under their mother’s wing, a friend said, and Loughlin has received support from friends, including her “Fall Into Winter” and “Great American Family” co-star James Tapper.
The actress is reportedly currently living at her family’s home in Hidden Hills, California. It was put up for sale in February for $16.5 million and is currently listed for $14.95 million.
Giannulli reportedly splits his time between Orange County and his family’s home in Idaho.
“We encounter obstacles every day,” Loughlin said in a First for Women cover story last year. “But for me, that song is like saying, ‘When you get knocked down, you get back up.'”
