Look what you made her do.
Fans believe Taylor Swift subtly shaded her ex-fiancé, Kayla Nicole, by gifting her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, to Teyana Taylor, whose ex-husband Iman Shumpert previously dated a sports journalist.
On Tuesday, the “One Battle After Another” actress took to her Instagram Stories to thank Swift for the gift and for sending her a copy of the record-setting project.
“Thank you Tay Tay!!” Taylor, 34, wrote above a photo of the gift box set.
The choreographer also shared a snap of a handwritten note from the “Bad Blood” singer.
“Hello! If you’ve shown me love, you’re someone I respect and ultimately want to celebrate with as we welcome Showgirl Life into the world,” Swift wrote.
“I hope you like the gift and the record! With love to a showgirl named Taylor Swift,” she concluded with her famous signature.
Fans believe the 14-time Grammy winner, 35, was throwing shade at Travis Kelsey’s ex Nicole, who previously hit back at Shumpert by dressing up as Taylor for Halloween.
“Some users are missing the real tea of this and why this is so funny, hahahaha,” tweeted one.
“Yeah, some people still don’t get it, but this era of Taylor is messed up and I love it,” added another user.
A third netizen wrote, “She only sent the email because Teyana said some fucked up things about Kayla,” adding, “When people who hate you post links.”
“Remember when Travis’ ex-girlfriend was soft on Teyana Taylor in her Angel interview? What did she say about Teyana’s popularity again?” a fourth person commented.
“She is the queen of accessories from the Idgafa era,” claimed another fan.
As Page Six previously reported, Nicole, 33, opened up about the “craziest thing” she’s ever done in a relationship.
“We weren’t dating, but…I was dating a guy,” the model said on the Angel Reese podcast in October 2024. “He dumped me via text message…to this singer and actress who was famous at the time.”
“[He]lied about it for months and then flew off with her,” Nicole claimed about Shumpert. “It became public and I was like, ‘Oh my God, we love them.’
The founder of Tribe Therepē said she was “devastated” and “heartbroken” when the “iconic celebrity couple” was made public.
“I had just been with this guy and we had just moved to New York to live together,” she recalled. “That was everything.”
That Halloween day, Nicole said she dressed up as Shumpert’s new partner, which internet sleuths identified as Taylor. (Nicole previously dressed as Taylor’s iconic dance character in Kanye West’s 2016 “Fade” music video.)
After Nicole’s story went viral, Taylor, who finalized her divorce from the former NBA star, also 35, in July 2024, called out the podcast host online.
“I know you’re going to hate seeing Taylor come 2025!!❤️🔥🌹🎥🎬🎞️💸,” the Coming 2 America actress cheekily wrote in her caption at the time, referring to Nicole’s ex Kelsey, who was in a high-profile relationship with Swift.
In a now-deleted comment on a Shade Room post about the interview, Taylor wrote, “Even though I’m happily divorced, her choice of words was extremely offensive and shouldn’t have been said.”
“She knew exactly what she was doing. She said, ‘She was famous at the time,’ and she said, ‘It was weird for everyone to see.’ And it was very offensive and unfair,” the actress continued.
“The most important thing is that she knew people would dig.”
In response to Taylor’s message, Nicole, who dated Kelsey, 36, on and off from 2017 to 2022, posted a video of herself with lyrics from Beyoncé’s 2016 song “Formation” playing in the background.
“You know you are the one who caused this conversation. Always be polite, the best revenge is your newspaper,” Song said.
The Kansas City Chiefs star and Swift are still going strong. In August, the power couple announced they were engaged after two years of dating.
Meanwhile, Taylor is currently dating “Mufasa” actor Aaron Pierre.
