Here comes the bride all dressed up…well, other than her old mine brilliant-cut Artifex Fine engagement ring, I don’t know.
Ever since Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey announced their engagement in August, the world has been speculating about what the 14-time Grammy winner will wear on her long-awaited wedding day.
Recently, celebrity wedding dress designers Vera Wang and Christian Siriano weighed in on the discussion and shared their predictions with E! News at Tuesday’s event.
“I had a hunch that it would happen. I’m very happy for her,” Wang, 76, said of the couple’s recent engagement at DKMS’s 19th annual gala on Oct. 14. “I don’t think there’s just one (dress). That’s my guess.”
We’re not surprised, considering how often Swift shakes things up when it comes to outfits.
At the same event, Siriano, 39, had a more specific vision in mind. “I think Taylor will wear some kind of lace,” he surmised.
That’s an educated guess, considering Swift has incorporated lace into her wardrobe in nearly every era since her career began in Nashville in the early 2000s.
She has also worn wedding dresses in several music videos, including 2008’s iconic “Love Story” fairy tale Reem Acra design and a more modern Nicole + Felicia Couture ball gown in 2021’s “I Bet You Think About Me” video.
Notably, both of these predate his relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Kelce, which began in the summer of 2023 during Swift’s epic Elas Tour.
Were the romantic white dresses that pervaded the iconography of her “tortured poet division” a sign of things to come?
The singer’s 11th studio album, released in April 2024 and immediately incorporated into performances during the Elas tour, debuted nearly a full year after Swift and Kelce officially became a couple.
Just two months later, Kelsea made a surprise appearance on stage at London’s Wembley Stadium during Swift’s performance of “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,” the second single from her Tortured Poets Department album. He wore a top hat and a tuxedo with tails, performed comedy skits with Swift and helped with costume changes.
What will Kelce wear on her big day?
His style is as much of a bodice-raiser as his bride’s. But I’m sure it’s not designer suit shorts.
No matter what the happy couple wears on their big day, no matter when it is, we’re sure this is just the beginning of their love story.
