Science Guy Bill Nye has added television guest appearances to his already impressive resume. The science icon and advocate will appear as himself on Tuesday’s episode of ABC’s “High Potential.”
Nye lends his scientific knowledge to help Morgan Guillory, played by “High Potential” star Caitlin Olson, with “Morgan Vision,” bringing him one step closer to solving the episode’s case.
In season 1, Guillory was a janitor for the Los Angeles Police Department, but after solving murders and impressing everyone with his IQ of 160, he became a full-time consultant. The drama will first air in the fall of 2024 and was renewed for a second season in January ahead of the season finale. It was a hit on ABC, averaging 16 million viewers per episode, and the series premiere garnered more than 30 million views before being renewed.
Mr. Nye is best known as the host of the popular ’90s educational show “Bill Nye the Science Guy.” Since then, he has also appeared in the Netflix series “Bill Nye Saves the World” and the Peacock show “The End Is Nye.” He has also appeared on other shows such as “The Big Bang Theory,” “The Masked Singer,” “Dancing with the Stars,” and “Blindspot.”
In addition to Olson, “High Potential” also stars Daniel Sunjata, Javicia Leslie, Deniz Akdeniz, Amira J., Matthew Lamb, and Judy Reyes. The show is based on the French series Haut Potentiel Intellectuel (HPI). Drew Goddard developed the series for American television and serves as executive producer along with Sarah Esberg through Goddard Textiles. Todd Harsan will serve as showrunner and executive producer. In addition to starring, Olson also serves as a producer on the series. 20th Television will produce, and Haasan currently has an overall deal with the studio.
