This week’s “Saturday Night Live” cold opening featured host Amy Poehler and her best friend Tina Fey as Pam Bondi and Kristi Noem, respectively.
The sketch began this week with Bondi drawing part of a controversial Senate hearing. Mr. Bondi infuriated the U.S. attorney general and was stubborn about topics such as the Jeffrey Epstein file.
When asked whether President Trump had directed James Comey to be indicted, the AG declined to comply.
“I’m not going to talk about my personal conversations with the president,” said Poehler, who plays Bondi. “I’m not saying who fell asleep mid-sentence or who kept calling me Ivanka while patting my knee.”
She also discussed the Jeffrey Epstein file, saying, “I tried reading the Epstein file, and I got really tired of it. It was so repetitive that I said, ‘Trump this, Trump that.'” Yawn. ”
Soon, Faye Noem enters, armed with an automatic rifle.
“Yes, it’s me, Christie,” Noem said upon entering. “I put an ‘I’ in my name because that’s how I thought it was spelled.”
Also, as Fey revealed, Noem gave insight into ICE’s hiring process, saying, “How did you find me? Do you post ads like this and need a job now? Yes. Are you a very tough guy? Yes. Are you tough enough to be in the military or police? No. Do you take the supplements you bought at the gas station? Do you use zip ties because the people around you don’t trust you? You know that. Welcome to ICE.
Noem also spoke about the controversial dog shooting scandal, saying, “That’s funnier than the ending of ‘Old Yeller,'” and “The dog doesn’t just get shot, the hero shoots the dog.”
