Taylor Swift has revealed that her Reputation Vault songs won’t be released anytime soon. Some fans thought she might release it along with The Life of a Showgirl. Taylor Swift says this release week is unlike any other in the past.
When Taylor Swift first revealed her promotional schedule for The Life of a Showgirl, some fans theorized that she would drop a Reputation Vault track during a mysterious “standby” event on October 4th. Instead, that night she released a limited edition album featuring acoustic versions of several Showgirls tracks.
However, the singer has heard the Reputation theory and provided a real update on when the Vault track (a song she wrote during the album’s writing process that ultimately wasn’t included) will be released.
“Nothing comes from reputation right away,” she said in an interview on The Roula & Ryan Show With Eric.
She explained that she wanted her fans to pay attention to this era.
The new album had just come out and it was like that moment. And I think this moment is a very wonderful moment. We also hold release parties at movie theaters. People are gathering. People are celebrating the release of this album with club nights and I’m really proud of that.
I’ve never felt like, “This is just pure joy and fun” during release week. Release weeks like this always have an element of extreme stress and you’re like, “Oh my god, I want to throw my phone in the drawer, I just have to like it,” but this album isn’t like that because it’s so fun and interesting and it fits perfectly with my life and the situation I’m in. So what I would encourage our fans to do is just be here with us. This album is amazing so please join me in this album. And we all have so much fun.
She added that she loves the passion and excitement of fans theorizing about what projects will come next. “Over the years, I have been pleasantly surprised by the reception,” she said. “I mean, when that record came out, I was like, ‘I love this album so much.’ And when it came out… it was just thrown into the fire.” Swift said she was “blown to pieces” at first.
“And after all these years, you see it. People are now deciding that this song is their favorite of my albums. It’s like the coolest feeling in the world,” she continued. “Go back and trust your instincts and trust what you’re feeling. So now people are saying, ‘Where’s the vault? Where’s the vault?'” It’s very exciting. Because it’s always been an album that was like, “This is my favorite, but I felt like it wasn’t honestly appreciated.” So now they’re saying, “I love that album, I want more,” which is great and great. ”
And while it will have its moment in the future, it’s not right now, Swift concluded.
The singer is almost done with her promotional schedule for The Life of a Showgirl. She will be Seth Meyers’ only guest tonight on Late Night with Seth Meyers, his last publicly announced event.
