Legendary casting director Bonnie Timaman reveals how he discovered stars such as Natalie Portman and Kate Winslet

Legendary casting director Bonnie Timmerman has revealed how her career is the subject of a new documentary – has discovered stars such as Kate Winslet, Benicio del Toro and Natalie Portman.

“It’s like you’re looking at someone on the other side of your desk, and you have a screen in your head, you either look on the big screen or not,” Timaman said of her process. “It could be a Broadway play or a radio show. Anything.

Timmerman, 77 – While recently working on a new film, “Roofman,” starring “The Best People,” with Channing Tatum and Lili Reinhart, she works primarily with trained actors, but she says she can find star power anywhere.

“I might go back to my apartment after the movie and sit in my car, talk to the driver and think that maybe he might be good to be in (a) into the movie, and it’s coming from everywhere,” she said.

And if she finds someone with an X-factor, she won’t give up on them.

She said that director Michael Mann first handed Ashley Judd for the 1995 Heat.

“About 10 days later, I auditioned him again,” she said.

Mann trusted her instincts so much that she passed the corner office on Park Avenue while working on the 1980s hit “Miami Vice” and discovered future stars such as Liam Neeson, Viola Davis, Bruce Willis, and Helena Bonham Carter.

I heard “Succession” star Brian Cox sing her praises at the screening of the documentary “Bonnie,” which took place in the sanctuary of St. Paul and St. Andrew.

“She’s a wise man,” Cox told guests at the event, “She’s responsible for my career.”

The document features testimonies of Lawrence Fishburne, Sigourney Weaver, Giancarlo Esposito and director Derek Cianfrance.

“James Bond” producers Barbara Broccoli, Steve Buscemi, Jake Lacey and Aidan Quinn participated in the screening.

“Manchester by the Sea” director Kenneth Lonnergan came to the event for a Q&A. This also served as an evening to raise awareness of the West Park centre.

Ronnergan and Timaman are part of a group of people, including Alec Baldwin, Keira Sedgwick, and Matt Damon, who are trying to save the building. They also serve as art spaces after a small congregation votes to plan to build a luxurious skyscraper.

The Landmark Conservation Committee will hold a hearing on the matter on Thursday, October 9th.
