Paramount Skydance has added another member to its senior rank. Originally from Mattel and spent 20 years at Disney and Marvel, Josh Silverman is employed as president of global product and experience.
Silverman will join the company on October 6, 2025 and report to President of Paramount Skydance Jeff Shell. Skydance Media’s $8 billion acquisition of Paramount Global closed in early August.
Silverman oversees the company’s consumer products, live experiences, publishing, partnerships and e-commerce. According to Paramount Skydance, he works with leaders from brands such as Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon to “inspire the story in new ways.”
Last week, news came that Pam Kaufman was withdrawing from Paramount’s international market, global consumer products and experience. While Silverman assumes product and experience monitoring, NBCuniversal alumnus Kevin McClellan is the head of Skydance’s international head.
Silverman recently served as Mattel’s executive VP and chief franchise officer, leading the implementation of more than 165 consumer product partnerships and Warner Bros Pictures’ retail employment for “Barbie” films. He also led initiatives such as the World of Barbie Travel, Hot Wheels Monster Truck Live and upcoming Mattel Adventure Park.
Before Mattel, Silverman served as senior leadership role at Marvel Entertainment and Disney. He joined Marvel in 2001 as a corporate lawyer for the Business and Legal Group before being promoted to SVP in global business development and licensing practices. Following Disney’s $4.3 billion acquisition of Marvel in 2009, he worked in the Marvel division on global strategic and tactical issues and corporate brand management.
In 2011 he moved to Disney, most recently serving as EVP for Global Third Party commercialization, leading Disney’s consumer product licensing business, third party retailing, and flexible business models, overseeing Disney stores and commercialization for Disney’s interactive and Disney publications. Silverman received his bachelor’s degree from Ithaca University in New York and a law degree from Brooklyn Law School.
“I’m very energised with entrepreneurship beyond Paramount,” Silverman said in a statement. “As we build a global ecosystem for our fans, we have an extraordinary opportunity to unleash new value by leveraging our well-known IPs and mining our portfolio for fresh stories and experiences. We work together throughout our team to deepen our emotional connections with our audiences and our brands, franchises and characters.”
“We’ve seen you get a lot of money,” said Shell, who was previously CEO of NBCUniversal. “Josh brings us a track record of strategic vision, deep industry experiences and a track record of driving global growth for our beloved brands and franchises as a whole.
Our recent and recent high-level recruitment includes the highest level recruitment of Dane Glasgow, Vice President of Product Management on Meta’s Facebook.
Additionally, Paramount Skydance, officially known as “Skydance Corporation” and “Paramount”, has appointed Dennis Cinelli, CFO of Scale Ai, to the board of directors.
