George Clooney knows that his wife, human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, is the brain of their relationship.
“I always feel like a village idiot around her!” The 64-year-old actor joked to Page 6 at the premiere of his film “Jay Kelly” at the New York Film Festival held at Lincoln Center on Monday night.
Amal’s impressive legal qualifications include Julian Assange and former Maldives President Mohamed Nasheed, working on an investigation into the United Nations’ armed drones.
In 2025, she was appointed Professor of Practice at Oxford University and became a Senior Fellow at the Institute of Human Rights at the Law School in Columbia.
The couple tied the knot in a famous ceremony in Venice, Italy in 2014, and welcomed their children’s twins, Ella and Alexander, in 2017.
Earlier this year, the 47-year-old legal scribe gushed about her husband 64.
“I have a partner who is very supportive of what I do,” she said in an interview with Glamour. “So I don’t think I have to apologize or hold it back.”
The actor’s latest flick is an art that mimics life, and he plays a famous film star with his loyal manager (Adam Sandler) who embarks on an “unexpected, profound journey.”
However, Clooney stated that his role in the film does not reflect his own choices as he gained fame later in life.
“I think it would be if I were young and famous,” he said. “I think I made a stupid choice.
“So at a younger age I was able to see how bad it was for me,” he concluded.
Clooney became a one-night star who played Dr. Doug Ross in “ER,” and quickly moved to the big screens of films like “Michael Clayton” and “Ocean’s Eleven.”
Other celebrities from the Starry Film Premiere, which will be released in theaters on November 14th, will be released on Netflix on December 5th.
