Comedian David Kross issued a fiery statement on his website on Monday denounced the comedian who agreed to perform at Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Comedy Festival.
“I’m tired of it and I’m deeply disappointed with this whole thing,” Cross wrote. “The people I admire will tolerate this totalitarian territory with unstable talent.
He continued. “We will never take these comedians seriously again (unless we are complaining that we are not supporting sufficient torture or massive executions of journalists and LGBQT peace activists here in America, or that flying a building won’t terrorize enough Americans.”
Cross continued to invoke certain names from the lineup, including comedy giants Dave Chappelle, Louie CK and Bill Burr.
“Obviously you guys don’t give us shit about what the rest of us are thinking, but how can any of us take everyone of you seriously again?” The cross was added. “Everything about ‘culture cancellation’ and ‘free speech’ and more, all your bitches have done all the shit. You can never talk about it again. Now I saw the deal you had to sign. ”
The “Mr. Show” star is not the first comedian to have problems with the Riad Comedy Festival. Mark Maron recently used his “WTF” podcast to slap people attending the event.
“I mean, how do you promote it?” from those who brought 9/11. Don’t miss the two weeks of laughter in the desert! ” he said. “I mean, the same guy who pays them is the same guy who paid him to Jamal Khashoggi, who crossed the bones, put him in a shitty suitcase, but don’t let that stop Yax.
Shane Gillis also denied the festival on his “secret podcast,” saying that he turned down an invitation and an “important bag” for appearance fees.
He said, “I took a principled stand. You are not 9/11 your friends.”
Other American comedians who will be appearing in the Riad Comedy Festival include Kevin Hart, Pete Davidson, Russell Peters, Gabriel Iglesias, Wayne Brady, Jeffross, Tom Segra and Hanni Balmless.
