Nicole Kidman filed for divorce from Keith Urban on Tuesday, with six pages available for viewing.
The filing comes a day after confirming that the couple split after 19 years of marriage.
“Sometimes the relationship just runs the course,” the source said Monday, adding that Kidman “didn’t want separation and was trying to save things.”
Sources also told TMZ that the actress, 58, and the country singer, 57, are separated “from the beginning of the summer.”
Kidman stays at the family home with the couple’s two children – Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. Urban moved to his own home in Nashville, Tennessee.
“(Kidman) has been tying the family through this difficult time ever since Keith was gone,” the source claimed, referring to his current tour.
Rumors about the couple’s problems swirled in June when the “Silly Boy” singer moved suspicious social media.
After Kidman shared an emotional Instagram homage to her husband on her 19th wedding anniversary, it was hard not to realize that many detective fans weren’t sharing their posts.
He also responded with a simple heart emoji in a Kidman post.
The “Perfect Family” star has not been seen on Urban social media since the May 9th Post won the Triple Crown Award.
The following month, Urban suddenly ended his Zoom interview when asked about his feelings for Kidman filming a sultry love scene with Zac Efron in the 2024 Netflix film A Family Affair.
“What do you think of Keith Urban when he saw a beautiful young man like Zac Efron and his beautiful wife on TV having these beautiful love scenes?” the interviewer asked at the time, but when Urban finished the phone he came across a cold shoulder.
