Netflix has ordered a new young adult drama series entitled “Poser” by MTV drama creator and showrunner Lauren Iungerich.
“Poser” is an eight-episode, one-hour drama series that “explores toxic female friendship” through the lens of a sexy, emotional thriller, according to Netflix. The show focuses on two estranged ex-best friends. According to Logline, “When one of them was given the opportunity to live life, she was long and coveted, so we may get an answer as to why they fell many years ago.
iungerich is the creator and showrunner of executive “Poser,” who is producing alongside Jamie Dorner under the Crazy Cat Lady Entertainment Banner. The series falls into the overall Iungerich deal on Netflix. After “adversary,” she co-created the Netflix Teen Dramedy series “On My Block” with Eddin Gonzalez and Jeremy Haft. The Los Angeles set show took place over four seasons and starred Sierra Capri, Jason Jenao, Brett Gray, Diego Tinoko, Jessica Mallie Garcia, Juliomacias and Peggy Blow. “On My Block” produced a short-lived spinoff titled “Freeridge,” named after the fictional LA district where the show was set. Iungerich also co-created Netflix’s supernatural comedy series “Boo, Bitch,” along with Tim Schauer, Kuba Soltysiak and Erin Ehrlich.
“Poser” will be participating in Netflix’s YA programming. This includes Jenna Ortega-Starring Smash Hit “Wordess”, the sci-fi phenomenon “Stranger Things” and the popular teenage drama “Outer Bank.”
Iungerich is represented by three arts and McKuin Frankel Whitehead.
