Katie Thurston feels “helpless” about the rumours of a fake death that is spreading amidst the battle with stage 4 breast cancer.
“I saw this (Facebook) article go before, but something tonight really makes me mad,” the “Bachelorette” alumni shared on Friday through her Instagram story.
“It was triggering. I tried to report it (but) there’s nothing I can do… I just feel helpless. I’m so angry right now.”
Thurston, 34, explained that he was planning to take a break from social media when he learned about the article.
“I was getting texts from people I don’t normally listen to,” she said. “Then I got DMs from people and everyone is like, ‘Are you okay?”
Speaking of follow-ups, the reality star said, “(I’m still here); (Facebook) is a constant clickbait.”
“Report these people. They suck!! This is so caused,” Thurston pleaded.
In February, the TV personality announced on Instagram that she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and was “ready to fight.”
“I have experienced a variety of emotions over the past two weeks. Despair. Anger. Sadness. And strength. There was a purpose. I was ready. I cried a lot.
“I had planned to appointments to meet with the team to discuss the overall treatment plan, including another biopsy, birth rate, mental health, surgery and chemotherapy,” Thurston added.
The following month, influencers revealed a stage 4 diagnosis after the condition spread to the liver.
Despite the set-up, she and Jeff Alkri tied the knot on the same moon.
During the live stream of Q&A in March, Thurston shared her and Alkuri’s plans to start a family through surrogacy, “When the Time Comes.”
In May, Thurston gave fans another medical renewal, saying she was experiencing “medically induced menopause,” which led to frogs.
She also said frankly that she had lost her memory in June.
