“Running Point” builds the cast for Season 2 with the addition of eight recurring guest stars.

New additions to Netflix basketball comedy include Robert Townsend (Bear, Previous Bear), Ken Marino (The Residence, 2 others), Tommy Dewey (Casual, Saturday Night), Richa Moogiani (I’ve never been, Fargo), Jake Picking (Top Gun: Maverick, Hollywood), Blake (Mad Up, Games, Games, Man), Man, Games Sistas), and Aliyah Turner (Powerbook III: Raising Canaan).

The complete text description can be found below.

Additionally, recurring cast members Justin Therou and Uche Agada are directed towards regular season 2 status.

The new addition will be featured alongside returning cast members Kate Hudson, Drew Tarber, Scott MacArthur, Brenda Song, Fabrizio Guido, Chet Hanks and Toby Sandyman. Repeated guest stars include Max Greenfield, Jayeris, Roberto Sanchez, John Glazer, Scott Evans, Rob Hubel, Marissa Reyes and Justin Hart Dunkley.

“Ronning Point” originally debuted on Netflix in February and was renewed quickly for the second season. The show ultimately spent five weeks on Netflix’s global English Top 10 TV charts.

The official season 1 overview states:

“When the scandal forces his brother to step down, Isla Gordon (Hudson) has been appointed president of one of the most renowned professional basketball franchises, Los Angeles Waves, and sometimes overlooks family business.

Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz and David Stassen are authors and executive producers, and Stassen also serves as showrunners. Hudson executives will be produced in addition to starring. Howard Klein, Jeannie Bass and Linda Lambis are also executive produced by Jordan Ramis. The series is produced by Mindy Kaling International in connection with Warner Bros. TV.

Character description:

Robert Townsend plays Norm Stinson. This is not always a way to communicate, knowing how to make the most of your team.

Ken Marino plays “Al Fleischman,” who wants a better courtside seat in the Waves of Los Angeles.

Tommy Dewey plays “Magnus,” the general manager of the Toronto Trapper.

Richa Murjani plays “Arna.” The incredibly dull star accountant of the Los Angeles Waves can avoid many financial hurdles.

Jake Picking plays “Tommy White” – the new Pretty Boy Star Point Guard from the Los Angeles Waves.

Blake Anderson plays “Leroy” – a wild, calm companion of Cam.

Duby Maduegbunam plays “Benson,” the latest basketball player in the Waves of Los Angeles.

Aliya Turner plays “Zoé Debay.” This is a beautiful, confident former child star who is becoming an A-list actress.
