June Squibb is planning to host the upcoming oxygen True Crime series, “Killer Grannies.”
The show was first announced in May as part of Cabletars Slate. This is because there will be an Oxygen premiere later this year, but no official premiere date was set at the time of this publication. The show’s official logline states:
“A true crime series that records the most shocking and unpredictable cases without anybody doubting: Grandma. In every self-contained episode, the roller coaster ride of the case unfolds as investigators dig deep and chase all the leads until the investigators eventually catch their unexpected killer. Peel off the plastic cover of the sofa to reveal a world of ominous plot and evil deeds.
Squibb is a very beloved and highly renowned actress with a 70-year stage and screen career. She began working for Broadway in the 1950s, but made her feature film debut in 1990. She received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the 2013 Alexander Payne film “Nebraska.” In addition to many other accolades and nominations, she received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. In 2024, she played the first major film role of her career in “Thelma,” playing a woman who fell victim to a phone scam and set out to get her money back. Squibb has also appeared in episodes of shows such as Shameless, American Horror Story, Modern Family, Glee, and Good Girls.
