Robert Irwin reveals that his late father, Steve Irwin, responded to him by competing in a dance with the stars.
In an exclusive chat with people on DWTS on Tuesday, September 23rd, the 21-year-old conservationist believes he hoped his father Steve would “here,” “here,” and “here,” where he competed on the show, and that Steve loved watching him perform.
“I’m doing this and I’ll do what I do in my life to be proud of him,” adds Robert his late father, who passed away in 2006.
“Dad was the one who gave everything he did, everything he really had. And this experience. That’s what you have to do. You have to show yourself every aspect. You have to put all the fibers of your energy into this, and you’ll get it all back,” he adds.
As for his experience with DWTS so far, Robert describes it as “surprising.”
“You get the feeling that you’re just flying,” he adds.

During the show itself, Robert discussed the impact his father had on his fans and what he has had to do to date.
“There’s no day when someone doesn’t share how Daddy was inspired,” Robert said. “That means everything to me. I live every year, so I feel like I’m actually getting closer to my dad.”
In the episode, Robert impressed the judges with his tango routine, which he performed with his partner, Whitney Carson.
Judge Bruno Toniori told Robert he was in “leading man mode,” but Judge Carrie Anne Inaba told him, “This level of competition is insane. Your charisma is off the charts.”
Meanwhile, Derek Huff explained Robert’s performance in a word. “Clicky,” he said.

Robert added that his spending so far on the show has been “surreal” and “I’m happy to be in this room and do this with Witney.”
“It’s a great honor, but we’re here to actively pump. We really want to bring joy, fun and passion… She’s absolutely the best and we’re an amazing team,” he continues.
