Shawn’s “Diddy” Combs’ lawyers sought the disgraceful rapper’s near-prison release from prison prior to his sentence.
In a memorandum of sentencing filed late Monday, the legal team of the “ACT BAD” rapper argued that his case guarantees a lighter sentence than the probation department’s recommendation for up to seven years or more, as COMBS was acquitted of more serious charges of sex trafficking.
“In the past two years, Combs’ career and reputation have been destroyed,” the application obtained by Page Six said.
“He has been working in one of America’s most infamous prisons for over a year. Yes, he made the most of that punishment. It’s time for Mr. Combs to return home to his family, so he can continue his treatment and try to make the most of the next chapter of his extraordinary life.”
Combs’ lawyers alleged that spending time behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, his client faces “mere punishment for violations.”
They argued that the 55-year-old Grammy Award winner is under constant suicide surveillance, limited access to clean water and lacked access to healthy, edible foods.
“Given these conditions, Combs’ time is significantly more punitive than the average time that other defendants convicted under the MANN Act serve, and a sentence within 14 months is sufficient “just a punishment,” the filing said.
A Combs lawyer claimed that the client’s behavior had “significantly improved” while undergoing treatment at MDC.
The memo also featured over 75 support letters from family and friends, including Revolt’s co-founder mother Janice Combs, his eldest son and his six children, and former rapper Caresha “Yung Miami” Brownlee.
The character’s witness letter was written by Sean’s ex-girlfriend Virginia “Gina” Huin. He previously accused him of “stomping” as “unable to breathe.”
On July 2nd, Sean was found guilty of two counts of prostitution.
During the trial, the ju judge heard from various people, including ex-Cassandra “Cathy” Ventura, founder of Sean John’s clothing.
Sean’s ruling is scheduled for October 3rd.
He still faces dozens of cases from men and women, and blames him for the extent of sexual misconduct and other misconduct. He denied all wrongdoing.
