“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is suspended for a week after star Tom Holland suffered a concussion on the set.
Produced by Sony Pictures in collaboration with Marvel Studios, the film has been filmed with director Destin Daniel Cretton since early August. Sources close to the production said the shooting is expected to launch again on September 29th, and will not affect the release date of July 31st, 2026. The Netherlands is recovering “from a wealth of attention,” as no one else has been injured in the London Pinewoodset incident, sources say.
Last month, Sony marked the start of production with an elaborate stunt sequence in which the Netherlands landed in a tank via the city as Spider-Man by releasing a Dutch video on set on the first day of Glasgow.
“It’s funny, I wear a suit, somehow I feel it’s different this time,” Holland says in the video. “It’s the first time I’ve had a fan on Set Day 1, so sharing this is really exciting. There are familiar faces on the set. I’ll do my best and hopefully, I won’t put any pressure on them.”
Franchise regulars Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are back in the Dutch fourth Spidey film along with newcomers Sadie Sink, Liza Colon Zayas and Tramel Tillman. Mark Ruffalo will play Bruce Banner (aka Hulk) alongside Frank Castle (aka The Punisher) and John Bernsal as Michael Mand, and has changed his role as Mac Gargan (aka Scorpion) in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.
“Brand New Day” is written by the regular Spidey Scribes Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers and produced by Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige.
