Meghan Markle and Prince Harry officials have closed reports that Harry had registered his son, Archie, at Eton College.
Spokesmen for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry often do not address rumors about the couple, but the rep today made a rare exception to set the record straight in the plan for Archie’s education, the Duchess of Sussex’s oldest child. The Daily Beast has released a report claiming that Harry had registered a 6-year-old and attended Eaton College, an elite British All-boys boarding school.
That’s far from the truth, the spokesman said E! : “We can confirm that Prince Harry has not placed Archie’s name on Eton and that the Duke has no plans to send his son to Eton.”
Harry and Meghan are raising their children in Montecito, California. The Duke of Sussex was open about his feeling that he could not bring Archie and his daughter Lillivet to the UK due to security risks.
When the couple retreated from their working royal role in 2020, they lost taxpayer-funded police protection. Harry then fought in court for the right to pay for police protection while in the UK.
In May, Harry lost his case against his case. Shortly afterwards, he told the BBC, “At this point, we cannot see the world bringing my wife and children back to England.”
He also tackled the tension between him and the royal family. “There was a huge amount of disagreement between me and some of my family,” he admitted.
Last week, Harry spoke to the Guardian about how a recent meeting with his father, King Charles III, changed the way he felt about taking Lili and Archie to England. He said he wanted it, “This week definitely brought it closer.”
